Hollywood

Sometimes hollywood makes me laugh and sick all at the same time due to their laziness and unoriginality. this happens to be one of those times. This is called the wilhelm scream. it's in everthing.

The best exercise program!

Want to loose weight with out even trying? Of course you do! Well this is how you do it: from 9am to 1:30pm (or sometimes till 4pm) clean your house non-stop, make 14 beds (with really heavy blankets), clean 8 toilets, vacuum 4 rooms, dust all surfaces, clean 16 sinks, walk back and forth for the supplies you need, and if you run out of supplies walk up and down 2 flights of stairs to get them, oh and don't eat anything the whole time. Follow these simple rules and you will loose weight like I have! I lost 10 pounds in 3 months! I think that I have gained some muscle too because the blankets on the beds are quite heavy, the vacuums are hard to push, and a load of towels can get heavy too!
I am not trying to complain about my job, because I actually like it. I think it is a lot better than sitting at a desk all day. At first it was really hard, i complained a lot, and my feet and back would hurt, and the hunger pains used to be nauseating. But now my body is used to it and I am enjoying my job. about 3 days ago I was assigned to clean 14 rooms (I normally have 8 rooms). 12 of them were tidy's (where the person is still occupying the room) and 2 were strips (when someone checks out). The 12 rooms that I tidied were each occupied by 3-4 youth from NYC. Wow, they were MESSY! I can usually do a tidy in 10-20 minutes, but these ones took me 20-40 minutes! So I was at work from 9am to about 5pm. The happy part is that all the youth were really nice and they were part of a singing group and they would burst out in song randomly. It was awesome!
The last two weeks of summer vacation will be crazy at the hotel! we will be completely booked and we will go from having 10 maids to only 5, and from 2 laundry workers to 0. I will be 1 of the 5 housekeepers, and I am also going to be taking over the open laundry position. I will be a very busy woman, and happily bringing home the Bacon.

My new job

I work at the University Inn on campus as a housekeeper. I have only been to work three times now and I like it so far. I really enjoy cleaning the rooms and knowing that what i am doing will help someone feel happy. I also like trying to guess who will stay in the room next, who just checked out of the room, or what the current occupants are like (if they will be there for a few days). If i clean a room while the current user is away and wants the room clean, i get to put a cute note in their room with a mint for each occupant. I like that part too, especially when they leave a tip :) Another thing i like about my job is that i am constantly moving and it feels like a good work out sometimes. I am a little slow at cleaning right now, but i am learning what kind of a routine works for me and I'm slowly getting faster. Tomorrow is supposed to be a really busy day because 67 people are going to be checking out! My boss told me to come an hour early so that i would be able to get all my rooms done. I hope it goes well.
I am very grateful to have this job and i am so glad that my Father in Heaven helped me find and get it! When it hit me that i would have to work on Sunday for this job i was scared and i hesitated to take it because keeping the sabbath day holy is very important to me. So i prayed and fasted about it because i knew that this was a job that needed to be done on Sunday too. I knew that the Lord would answer my prayers and He did! I know that this is where He wants me to be, and I am grateful everyday for this amazing experience!

my new blog

I created a new blog today! It's a food blog! Yeah! Here's the address: cheepeating.blogspot.com I know, I know, it's spelled wrong, but I did that because of two reasons. The first reason is because cheap eating was already taken and secondly because it will make for a great bird theme! I give a third reason on the actual blog. So you should all check it out!

Look what I can do!

I love baking! I think that's why James and I look so...um...healthy :) Today I made this wonderful pastry. I got it from this site: http://17andbaking.com/2010/04/02/blackberry-jam-almond-bars/
She has a lot of other really great recipes. Check it out!

The winner is...

This man, if he was on american idol i think he would win hands down, even though he obviously forgot all of the words to his song. and he might be a little too old to make the age limit

The Awesomeness

the last couple weeks i've been watching the cosby show on you tube. it is the awesomeness, i'm sad that tv shows today can't capture the greatness that was the cosby show.

Lazy or Genius?

Now i know what most of you are thinking. This man is lazy, but i beg to differ, this man is smart. In fact he's a genius. He's so smart that he made a four hour job into a 15 minute one. Can you do that, purely by trying some new technique? i didn't think so. to me this video screams "give this man a Raise."

Now that's what i'm talking about

I was trying to remember why macgyver was so cool, and i found the perfect picture to explain why. not many spies can save the world with only a paper clip, more than once.
Macgyver is awesome

Buyer's remorse

Have you ever had that feeling, you know the one right after you buy something either pricy, or frivolous? that kind of feeling where your like, do i really need this, or should i just wait, maybe something better is gonna come along in like a month. for me usually this means some kind of technology. but this time is different. mostly because i didn't have any actual remorse while i was buying the item, just later when i saw what could have been. i mean seriously, i should have gotten mom and dad the snuggle suit, instead of the snuggie, but alas, i didn't even now the s suit existed. oh well. by the way, for those you of you who don't keep up to date on the latest blanket turned clothes fashion, here is the picture of the snuggle suit, the top of the line, for the time being.
